Nehemiah Spring Creek Senior Housing

Brooklyn, NY

Wrapped in two tones of gray brick with relief patterns providing subtle variation in texture, shading, and tonality, this building in the Spring Creek neighborhood of Brooklyn anchors the intersection of Schroeders Street, Vandalia Avenue, and Erskine Street adjacent to Berriman Playground.

The Project involves the construction of an eight-story building with approximately 189 affordable units under HPD’s Senior Affordable Rental Apartments (SARA) program. All of the income-producing units will be rented to seniors aged 62 years and older, earning 40% AMI or below; 30% of these units are set aside for homeless seniors.

A 4,500 square foot landscaped courtyard will be provided at the rear of the building, and 2,500 square feet of community facility space will be provided on the ground floor.

Other amenities include a gym, laundry room, bike storage and various onsite social welfare services.
